Lab Technician

Role Overview

Kalra Hospital (SRCNC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join its diagnostic and clinical laboratory team in New Delhi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance within the hospital's laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples
Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests such as hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments in proper working condition
Record and report test results accurately in the laboratory information system (LIS)
Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and biosafety protocols
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to communicate critical lab findings in a timely manner
Manage inventory of laboratory reagents, consumables, and supplies
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure reliability of test results
Maintain proper documentation and ensure regulatory compliance with hospital and laboratory standards

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / B.Sc MLT) from a recognized institution
Valid registration with the relevant medical technologist or paramedical board preferred
Hands-on experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting
Proficiency in operating laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment
Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and infection control practices
Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Willingness to work in shifts including weekends and holidays as required
