Freight and Customs Expert

This role focuses on managing and optimizing freight and customs processes to ensure efficient and compliant international trade operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of customs regulations, logistics principles, and trade compliance requirements, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and minimizing potential disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all aspects of freight forwarding and customs clearance.
Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and trade agreements.
Negotiate rates and contracts with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, logistics, and finance teams.
Identify and mitigate risks related to freight and customs operations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to import/export activities.
Stay up-to-date on changes in customs regulations and trade policies.

Requirements/Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or international trade.
In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and trade compliance.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in relevant software and systems.
