Role Overview

Vestas Wind Technology India Pvt Ltd is seeking a seasoned Industrial Cybersecurity Expert to join their team in Chennai. This role is pivotal in safeguarding industrial control systems, operational technology (OT) environments, and critical infrastructure within the wind energy sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in securing SCADA systems, industrial networks, and energy assets, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity frameworks aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement cybersecurity strategies and frameworks for industrial and OT environments, including SCADA and ICS systems
Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security audits across operational technology infrastructure
Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures specific to industrial and energy systems
Monitor industrial networks for threats, anomalies, and security incidents, and lead incident response activities
Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations teams to integrate security controls into industrial processes and system designs
Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIST, and ISO 27001
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams on industrial cybersecurity best practices
Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies suited for OT and industrial environments
Liaise with vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies on cybersecurity matters related to industrial systems
Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness and training programs for operational staff

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Extensive experience in industrial cybersecurity, with a strong focus on OT, ICS, and SCADA systems
Deep knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks including IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and NERC CIP
Hands-on experience with industrial network protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, and Profibus
Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security monitoring in industrial contexts
Experience performing threat modeling, risk assessments, and penetration testing in OT environments
Relevant certifications such as GICSP, CISM, CISSP, or CSSA are highly desirable
Familiarity with the energy or renewable energy sector is a significant advantage
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment
