Role Overview
Knight Frank is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Quantity Surveyor to join its project management and consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, overseeing engineering activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of construction and real estate development projects. This role demands a professional who can seamlessly blend technical engineering expertise with strong quantity surveying capabilities to drive projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and budgets for construction and infrastructure projects
- Monitor and control project expenditure, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets
- Conduct feasibility studies, value engineering, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects
- Administer contracts, evaluate contractor claims, and manage variations and change orders
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Prepare and review progress reports, project schedules, and milestone documentation
- Conduct site measurements, valuations, and interim/final payment certifications
- Participate in project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Relevant professional certification or membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) is preferred
- Demonstrated experience of at least five years in project engineering and/or quantity surveying roles within real estate, construction, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation, contract administration, and BOQ preparation
- Familiarity with standard forms of contract such as FIDIC, NEC, or equivalent
- Proficiency in project management and cost management software tools
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and clients
- Willingness to travel to and work across project sites in Hyderabad and Amaravathi as required
- Knowledge of local construction practices, regulations, and market conditions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is an advantage
