Senior Lead Advocacy

This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to advance Room to Read’s mission. The Senior Lead Advocacy will be responsible for developing and executing advocacy strategies, engaging with government officials, and representing the organization in relevant forums to influence policy and create a supportive environment for children's literacy and gender equality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies aligned with Room to Read’s program goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent Room to Read in advocacy forums, conferences, and events.
  • Monitor policy developments and identify opportunities for advocacy.
  • Prepare advocacy materials, including policy briefs, presentations, and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure advocacy efforts are integrated with program activities.
  • Track and evaluate the impact of advocacy initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in advocacy, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the policy landscape related to education and gender equality.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful advocacy strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
