Junior System Administrator

Role Overview

BCForward India Technologies Private Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior System Administrator to join their IT infrastructure team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the organization's IT systems and network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and related software components
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using standard monitoring tools
Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
Perform regular system backups, recovery operations, and routine maintenance tasks
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application incidents in a timely manner
Assist in the implementation of IT policies, procedures, and security best practices
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and incident logs
Collaborate with senior IT staff on infrastructure upgrades and project deployments
Support patch management and vulnerability remediation activities

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Hands-on experience with Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems
Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management
Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Understanding of backup and disaster recovery procedures
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MCSA, or equivalent are a plus
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
