US Residential Mortgage Underwriter

This role involves evaluating residential mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet established guidelines and regulations. The underwriter will analyze financial documentation, credit history, and property appraisals to assess risk and make informed lending decisions, contributing to the efficient and compliant processing of mortgages.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze loan applications, supporting documentation, and credit reports.
Verify borrower income, assets, and employment history.
Assess property appraisals and ensure compliance with valuation guidelines.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with loan applications.
Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Communicate with borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and gather information.
Document all underwriting decisions and rationale.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines and regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in using underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
