Equity Research Associate

Role Overview

CRISIL Limited is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equity Research Associate to join its research team in Mumbai or Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of publicly listed companies and equity markets, generating actionable investment insights, and supporting senior analysts in the preparation of research reports. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, financial modeling expertise, and a passion for capital markets.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental analysis of listed companies across assigned sectors, including review of financial statements, earnings, and valuations
Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and earnings forecasts
Track macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and company-specific news to provide timely research updates
Assist in the preparation and publication of equity research reports, sector notes, and thematic studies
Coordinate with clients, fund managers, and internal stakeholders to address research queries and present findings
Monitor portfolio companies and flag material changes in business fundamentals or market conditions
Gather and synthesize data from multiple sources including company filings, regulatory disclosures, and industry databases
Support senior analysts in roadshows, earnings calls, and investor presentations

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field
CFA qualification (completed or in progress) is preferred
Prior experience in equity research, investment banking, or financial analysis is required
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing clear, concise research reports
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data platforms such as Bloomberg or Capital IQ
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality output within tight deadlines
High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data and analysis
