Special Educator (IB, M-S)

This role involves providing specialized educational support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs within an International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, specifically focusing on the Middle School (M-S) years. The Special Educator will create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), adapt curriculum, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, and specialists.
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the unique needs of students with learning differences.
Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and small group settings.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and social-emotional growth.
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure students are integrated into the mainstream classroom whenever possible.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, particularly within an IB framework.
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and assistive technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
