Senior Backup Engineer

This role focuses on ensuring the integrity, availability, and recoverability of critical data and systems. The Senior Backup Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backup and recovery solutions, proactively identifying and mitigating potential data loss risks, and collaborating with various teams to ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies and procedures.
Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot any failures.
Perform regular testing of backup and recovery processes.
Develop and maintain documentation related to backup and recovery systems.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy.
Optimize backup performance and storage utilization.
Implement and maintain data replication solutions.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Significant experience in backup and recovery technologies.
Strong understanding of data storage concepts and technologies.
Experience with backup software and hardware.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Experience with cloud-based backup solutions is a plus.
